Make sure you all come out to the show everyone! It's going to be worth it! We are extremely excited about recording, the possibility of us having 3 songs done before summer is driving us crazy! Stay tuned.

04.25.2005
Hey, a quick elaboration on the postponement of "Brain Pollution". Greenhouse Studios is moving to a more convenient location, Commercial Drive! So, the studio is shut down until late may, and producer Bruce Levens has promised us he will make time for the song to be finished in june, lets hope plans hold up. Stick around for details on sooner recording.

04.17.2005
Hey guys, long time no update here. Something has been wrong with our website updater so this page has sort of been ignored for a little while. I wont bother to replace entries that should have been put in. To summarize, since valentines day we've written a number of new songs, and done a show with Bif Naked at the CCC which was amazing. We are looking into finishing brain pollution, and possibly recording some more. We also have a new show on may 7th in richmond, check the shows section for details. Thanks for your support everyone.

02.14.2005
Hey everyone, happy Valentines and all that. Now for some big news. We got in touch with Supernova today and we're been invited to participate in Vancouver's muSICK series show. Its going to be on April 15th at a very familiar venue for you hardcore Dust fans, the Croatian Cultural Center. Details are pretty sparse so far, all we can tell you is that Halo Horizon and The Unsung Heroes will also be taking part. There will also be a number of other top placing local Vancouver bands. Now the kicker, we'll be opening for a LARGE music act. Some possible prospects are Billy Talent, Three Days Grace, Alexisonfire, Brand New, Alkaline Trio, Yellowcard, and Bif Naked. There are also MANY other prospective bands to name, but the point we're trying to get across here is that this is going to be HUGE for us! Not only that but it gives you guys the chance to see some of your favourite commercial rock bands along with your friendly local bands such as Dust at the same show. We dont know when tickets are going on sale or how much they will be, but you WILL be able to buy them from Dust members at some point. Head to www.supernova.com or back to this site for details on the headlining bands and ticket sales etc. So... mark April 15th on your calendars dudes, this is going to be SICK.

02.11.2005
Hey you guys. Listen up, The show for the 18th is NOT taking place, it's been pushed back until April. Im not even sure if we're still going to take part, but just to let you know, its not happening. We've been doing ALOT of writing, things are sounding really cool. We've been busy with Oklahoma and sickness lately but as we move ahead we are hoping to be able to finish up Brain Pollution for everyone soon. We're all going crazy waiting for it! Hang in there. -koby

12.13.2004
Dust would like to thank everyone that showed up the show on Saturday. We got third place, but frankly, we couldn't care less about the prizes, the show was so much better than them. Everyone in the audience was awesome and just great all around, and kudos to everyone who tried to start a mosh pit. at least you tried. All the new people who we met were great as well, and we really hope to see you all at the SUPERNOVA FINALS ON JANUARY 15TH. if you want tix, email - dusttheband@hotmail.com - and we'll do our best to deliver them to you. - Simon

10.10.2004
Dust is going back to greenhouse studios!! Preparations for the recording of our next single, "Brain Pollution" have begun. This song is a very different style from Dust's 20+ month old recording of the song, "Snap". "Brain Pollution" has come a long way since its beginnings over a year ago, and Dust is very proud and excited to be laying it down with the generous help of Greenhouse studio manager, Bruce Levens. [Engineer and Editor TBA] We will be working the song with the help of greenhouse for the next month or so in our rehearsal space to polish it up to recording calibre. Then over the span of a few weeks the track will be cut, edited, embellished, mixed, mastered, and ready for listening. Price for the single hasnt been discussed yet. We will keep you posted with news and pictures from the studio, hopefully. If you want an idea of what the recording atmosphere will be like, paste this address into your browser ------> www.greenhouse-studios.com/studios.html <----- Happy Thanksgiving!! -Koby

10.03.2004
Oh yeah, another thing. We finally figured out how to make it so i can edit the site at my house now, so i've been fooling around with it while i've been bored. If you're bored and feel like surfing the site you can check out the band, press and individual bio sections for changed info and some pictures that arent 2 years old! Pz.. -Koby

08.21.2004
Hey! I'm back, and good things are happening. If you sign up to the newsletter, you already know that we have a new gig on September 22nd. It'll be the semi-finals of the Vancovuer Supernova Battle of the Bands. This is crucial. There are only 12 bands this time, but they're going to be much much better than the ones in the first round. We need your support. Go to supernova to get the details, and follow the yamaha battle of the bands link. thanks.

06.28.2004
Hola. So, right now, there are a goings on in my basement. and the goings on just happen to be recording with the money we got from the supernova battle of the bands. hopefully we weill be recording 3 songs - licking stamps, the italy song, and the new one, rags to riches. licking stamps is almost finished already, and we should be releasing the new demo in the fall. have a good summer everyone, do something stupid. and tell us about it in the guestbook.

06.08.2004
Well. There hasn't been an update for a while. We had a somewhat uneventful concert out in Langley. Our five person following turned out to be all members of our close family. : ) Oh well. It was still fun, and we played possibly the best we've ever played. In terms of what's happening with the band right now, Anton and Koby are heading off on holidays soon, so Dust isn't going to be active over the summer. However, in September we will be playing in the city-wide finals of the Supernova Battle of the Bands, so you have that to look forward to. We also have a brand new kickass song which we will hopefully be able to get into the studio to record sometime in the fall. And on a final note, we have a logo for our shirts. They will be available in September. here it is.

05.10.2004
Hey everyone. A little time has passed since the last update. We've recovered from whatever we had, and life is good. So, we've got another gig. With Anita Hoare again. Sweet. Here's the downside - it's in Langley. Well, don't just sit there and mumble about how you're too damn lazy to hustle your ass out there, and come out and support us on May 29th at the Endoplasmic. I'll be posting directions soon. Apparently it's a sweet place to play, so come on out.

04.22.2004
Wow. I hate this. me and koby are really sick, so there's no concert for us on saturday. which sucks, cuz we were really looking forward to it. oh well. anyway, we'll keep you updated if we get better and when we get some new shows. peace.

04.05.2004
Ok guys. and girls. and parents. if you're reading this. anyway, we've got another gig, and it's a fundraiser for orphans in Guatemala. tim, i can hear you laughing if you're reading this. anyway, it's only three dollars, and it is for a good cause, so come out and support us. also, we have a mailing list now, so sign up your name on the homepage. That's it for now, please tell your friends to add themselves to the mailing list as well. thanks for all your support.

03.27.2004
Holy Shit! That was incredible. I just got back from the Yamaha Last Band Standing at the Croatian Cultural Centre. WE GOT 2ND PLACE!! It was unbelievable. out of 14 bands. some of the others were really good to. shout-outs to everyone who came, you rock and we love to death, to Halo Horizon, you deserved more than you got, and to Beyond These Doors, it's PAYBACK TIME! :p seriously though, they did a good set. The CCC was an excellent venue, Rocky Mountain Sound was incredible, and thank you to Kevin at Supernova for putting this thing on. Because we got second place, we got $240.00 worth in gift certificates to Long and Mcquade and we advance to the CITY WIDE FINALS which will be held sometime in August, so hopefully it won't be while me/anton is away in some foreign country. See you soon, -simon

03.18.2004
Hey everyone. I'm here say we hope everyone had a happy and partay-filled spring break on behalf of the members of Dust. And just a reminder, we have only one week of ticket selling left before the big show at the Croatian Cultural Centre. You can get tix from anyone in Dust. Talk to them at school if you want one. It'll be an uberly excellent kick ass show, and the more tix we sell, the better time slot we get, so buy one for yourself and twelve for all your nearest and dearest friends. :) Or, if you want a ticket but you dont go to the school of anyone in Dust, or your just too lazy to talk to them there, email us at dusttheband@hotmail.com or phone Simon at 604-874-1153 and he'll set up a time for you to get the tix. please dont delay, we need to sell these fast. more info's on the concert page

03.10.2004
Ok. I have the advance tickets for the March 26th show, so you can get them from either me (simon) or anton, or koby, if you feel like purchasing them from an indian elf. The advance tix are only 10 dollars, as compared to the door tix that will be 15 dollars. not much to pay for 16 bands. talk to me at school if you want to get some. we have to sell 30 or more tickets to qualify for the first prize ($500.00 dollars for yamaha gear and advancing to the next round), so hopefully we'll be able to sell at least that many. also, we're partially ranked on crowd response, so the more the merrier. bring everyone, even your great-grandma in... bella coola. :) hope you see y'all there. oh yes, and unfortunately we will not be recording over spring break, but purely for the reason that the recording will be better if we practice more. :p

03.04.2004
Well, here's some news, a NEW GIG! Excellent. This time it's not in a tiny little mexican villa restaurant, but instead inside the gargantuan Croatian Cultural Centre! sweet. So, it's a battle of the bands, and it's on Simon's birthday! So, if you should feel so inclined, and we hope you do, come out and support the band ( and simon ) on friday, March 26th at the Croatian Cultural Centre. If we win we get money and we advance to next round. oooh. peaz oot. oh yeah, I think you'll be able to buy tix online or sumthing. www.supernova.ca you can register and vote for our band and put us as one of your favourites. we'll gain rank. sexy.

03.01.2004
Hello everyone. Welcome to March. Should be uberly fun-filled, and hopefully we'll be recording some stuff over spring break at Greenhouse Studios. Newly updated sections - bios and pictures. The El Cocal pics are up, and the GM Place one's will follow shortly. bye guys.

02.29.2004
Wow. That show was awesome. The El Cocal was sweet. Rubiks was not there, instead we had "Tone", a middle aged single mom folk singer who's favourite topics for songs included hating her husband, hating gordon campbell, hating her period, and being in a dusty whorehouse. lovely. then we played. and it was fun. 10 songs, plus tye-dye as an encore. the new one was titled "Licking Stamps", and it was damn fun to play. Then Anita Hoare came up, and that was a whole new load of fun. covers were many, and the drummer was excellent. profanity was around every corner, and the good-charlotte-looking-guitarist who ended up frenching his girlfriend and seducing marylin while singing the Discovery Channel song was fun as well. a good time had by all, everyone who came out - you rocked mondo. and a thank you to the parents who schlepped all our crap there and back. goodnight. we love you people. time for bed.

02.21.2004
I've been updating a lot lately. I guess there's been a lot to update. We have a show, as some of you might already know, on feb. 28th at The El Cocal. I'll be passing out little flyers for it at school on Monday. Apparently it's a tiny little place, but if we get lots of people to come out, then we (and the other bands we're playing with) will start to have more shows like this in slightly bigger places. The idea is that we just get a lot more all ages shows happening around Vancouver. Good stuff all around. Oh yeah, some guy from a U.S. record label signed in the comments page for the best song vote. He says he read about us in some newspaper. Go figure. Oh well, at least he said our songs were sweet. That's it for now, see ya guys l8er. i'm so the next 4vril l4vign3.

02.20.2004
Wow. That was a fun show. There were four bands after all, and although we didn't advance, we played pretty well, and got to hang out in the "Celebrity Lounge", which in fact had no celebrities in it at the time. (other than us of course) Regardless, we had a really great time, and got to be on the megatron thingamagig. We played Scribble it Down, for those of you who weren't there. The band that won (I don't remember their name, i think it had the word "door" in it) was in grade 12, and they actually have a rock class at their school, in which they get credit for playing their own rock music. Why the hell do we not have one of those? Anyway, I'll put up pics on the site later when we get them on cd. And to everyone who came out, from Hamber especially, we owe so much to you, we love you, you rock.

02.19.2004
Fuck yeah! The show is on at GM Place! And, as a little extra bonus, instead of having eight bands playing tomorrow before the game, there's only three! This gives us a way better chance of getting to play at halftime and then possibly advancing to the next round on a further date. The three bands will play starting at about 45 minutes before the game (6:30 or 6:45) inside the stadium. Originally it was thought that we were playing outside, but now for sure we'll be on the inside. Unfortunately, you have to buy a ticket to see us play, so i guess that's part of the whole marketing thingamobob. Cool. There's gonna be 8000 or so people there hopefully. Shit. That's a lot of people. Love you guys, we'll be seeing you tomorrow!

i'm not gonna get any sleep tonight.

02.17.2004
Hey guys!! God, i'm tired. We just got back from hamber, played a kickass show at the battle of the bands, and WON!! We owe an extensive portion of our gratitude to the wonderful audience. The other bands were awesome as well. Bunk deserved more votes. Because we won, this means that we get to play this friday at GM Place! w00t. k. Here's the problem. Koby, unbenounced to us, has some swing/stage band preformance on the same night, and they've been preparing for this for quite some time. So, we have a time confliction, and, uh, frankly, we're trying to work it our right now. I'll update the site again tomorrow with the details, but hopefully (knock on wood) we'll get to play the show at GM Place. wow. that's gonna be so cool. we luv all of you!! c ya.

02.14.2004
Happy Valentines Day guys! We love you all. Well, maybe not all of you. heh. Anyways, we are probably going to be recording over spring break at Greenhouse Studios. We were discussing some stuff with the guys there, and we'll probably try to record only one or two songs, but make them really good quality, hopefully radio material. We're working on some new stuff as well, so we'll keep you updated. We might possibly have a show on the 28th at the El Cocal (club on commercial drive) but we're not sure if it's happening yet or not. Also, battle of the bands is coming up in three days. If we win, we get to play at the Ravens game! So come out and show your support, cuz i think the winner will be decided by ballots. The more the merrier!

02.12.2004
Ok, so here's what's happened. Yesterday, the guy from rec-age studios emailed us up and said he couldn't record us on spring break cuz he was going somewhere else, or touring, or something. So now we're scrambling to find another recording studio. But, we've contacted some places, so hopefully we'll find another studio for spring break. Oh, by the way, battle of the bands tickets are now on sale at lunch at the kiosk at hamber. They will also be sold at the auditorium door on the day of the concert. see the gigs page. You can also buy Vancouver Ravens tickets for the night when a hamber band will be playing at gm place. Only 15.00 for both a Ravens and battle of the bands ticket! Good deal people.

02.02.2004
Hey guys. For some reason, auditorium conflicts or something, the battle of the bands has been changed to Tuesday, February 17th. It's still gonna be at about 3:45, and approximately 2.00. 40 cents a band. c'mon. the only way you're gonna get it cheaper is if you watch that guy outside of the london drugs with the guitar and not pay him anything. not that i'm against hobos. It's just that... yeah, come to the battle of the bands instead.

01.24.2004
Hey guys, its Koby here. Whats goin on? We havent updated in a bit, but heres some news that ya'll should pay some close attention to. Our show in richmond has been pushed back till april, DAMMIT! BUT, Dust is gonna be in a battle of the bands at Eric Hamber on thursday feb 12!!!! The battle starts at 3:45 pm, so if you dont goto hamber yell at your teachers to let ya out of class early so you can come to Hamber on time to see Dust rock the fucking roof off. If we win the contest we get to play at GM Place!!! It only costs like 2 bucks or something, so dont be cheap and give us that lame "no money excuse" =P. So yeah! be there on feb 12 and we'll love you forever! Also, we're going to be laying down at least 4-5 brand spanking new tracks come spring break so keep your pants on until then folks, after that all you have to do is buy it. With, or without pants =D. Cya on the 12th, peace.

01.03.2004
Wow. 2004. sweet. k. We got a new gig. It's in Richmond, you know what that means. wait for it. wait for it. ROAD GIG! sweet. read about it in the shows section.

12.30.2003
Hey everyone! Hope all you guys had an awesome christmas / hannukah / kwanzaa / other non-denominational holiday, and raked in some excellent loot. Best wishes for the new year for all of you, and rock out on new years. Koby's in Mexico getting tequila or whatever so no gigs for new years for us, but we'll keep looking for some more in the new year. We'll post the definate date for the battle of the bands soon. Oh yeah, and keep checking the guestbook. There's so much crazy stuff in there it's impossible to comprehend.

12.11.2003
Ok. Time for some ubar coolness. If you go to google and search for "dust" you're not gonna get our band, because there's all these other things that have the word "dust" that have higher hits than this site right? But get this. Search for "Ikbosh". That's right. Ikbosh. Just try it. It's pretty crazy. Look what you get. Here. I'll even link you. Google you lazy bastards.

12.10.2003
Ok. Here's the deelio. There's this city-wide battle of the bands thingamigig going on across... well the city. So, here's how it goes. Each school (approximately 50 in total) will send one band from their school, chosen by an individual botb hosted by themselves. This will probably take place sometime in January. We'll keep you updated. It will probably cost 2 dollars or something. meh. Then, the winners from each school will get to play at a Vancouver Ravens (lacrosse) home game at GM PLACE! Suweeetness. From those games, (seven bands each night, over seven nights) the seven total finalists will compete all together. The winners get a crap load of cool stuff - recording time, money for music money, etc. Way cool. Will post times of gigs when we know. Oh yeah, and there's a fancy new table for the gigs. Look and admire.

11.25.2003
w00ticious! Only one month till christmas, or a litle bit less if you're jewish. Our song "Salt" which is likely to be the next single has been renamed to the working title "Not Right to Me." We have officially signed a deal to record as many tracks as we can in five days. This will take place on Spring Break. (sorry for the wait but we had to get a string of days off and the parental units didn't appreciate the "screw school" approach) Gigs will be coming in the new year. We can also play at partays or other events if you have them coming up. Give us a shoutaroo.

11.10.2003
Hey guys, I just figured I'd give you a little update on how the band is doing, cuz I haven't updated for a month or so. Right now Anton is in Montreal for a week, and after that, Koby's going to Winnipeg. We are still looking for shows, but we will be on the set list for some coming up in the new year, the times just aren't settled yet. I had someone from Surrey phone me today asking if we can do bar gigs, so at least word is getting around, even if we don't have the shows right now. :p keep the peace. I'll try to update more.

10.06.2003
WORD! Koby's cast is off, and we are back practicing. We'll try to get some more gigs as soon as we can. We'll keep you updated.

09.19.2003

Yay! Audio is finally on the site! It might take slightly longer to load, but it's worth it. As we've said, more audio will be on when Koby's arm heals and we get into the recording studio. (We've already found one, we just need the time.) Sit tight, and you will be rewarded.

09.02.2003

Here's a revelation for ya. God hates our band. Well, seeing as that I'm an atheist, I don't really think that's true, but it might as well be, 'cause whenever we have a gig, something seems to go wrong. ex. today, I (Simon) got a phone call that we could play at the big Douglas Park Sharing our Wealth festival. Within an hour Koby's breaks his wrist. It wasn't really his fault, more the fault of an errant pass by a soccer player on our team (you know who you are). Anyways, we're not going to be having any more gigs indefinately (probably about 6 weeks), but when Koby gets his cast off, we'll be right back at it. We've got some kick ass songs on the go though, so when we do have our next show, do your best to come, 'cause it'll be worth your while.

08.11.2003 we're now past the 2000 hit mark. Also, Anton has arrived back from Europe, so we have some brand spanking new songs that are unheard by listeners ears and are just waiting to be recorded. We'll keep you guys posted on gigs.

06.13.2003
Year Winds Down.
Just a bit of info before the summer commences on us :D and we all part ways until next school year. Around this date marks Dust's first anniversary that the boys have been together. *puts on his hat and throws confetti. On behalf of the band I'd like to thank everyone thats supported us for the past year from our first gig at Emily Carr graduation until now. Once summer hits we will part ways for a while as Anton will be making a month long trip to Denmark and then to visit our star lighting crew Ross in Ohio. Simon will be off doing something neat in a neat kind of place, and I'll be in and out oftown drinking pop and getting fat and making trips to Hornby Island and Calgary. Don't miss us to much children as Dust will hopefully be doing some more damage next year with more gigs, and plans for our first full length album go under way. We shall keep you up to date and any new info we can dig up. Have a great summer! -Koby

Thanks to everyone who came to our concert last night at Douglas Park. We had a great time playing in front of everyone who showed up. Although we didn't have as many folks as we had hoped for at the shindig, we are proud to say that almost all of the fans there came to see see this very band. For those of you who didn't come because the ticket price was too high, we don't blame you. The staff at Douglas Park will lower it for the next concert. But, for the people that were there, we salute you, you die hard Dust freaks! We played an excellent set (if I do say so myself) which included some never before heard songs, and some old favourites. Well, actually, only one old favourite. Snap. The Roc and Rol Implosion, Satori, and the other band that we didn't know the name of that played the funky pot smokin' music were excellent as well. We hope to play with them again sometime in a future show. We'll try to get another concert out as soon as we can, but Anton is going to Denmark for the whole summer, so there might be a gap during that time. Thanks once again.

Songs played in the set -
Anything at All
Tye - Dye
Scribble it Down
Sometimes
Brain Pollution
Snap

Buttons are here!! For the low low price of $1.00 canadian, you can purchase an authentic "Dust" button. They will be sold at the concert, and if you talk to Simon at school he will be happy to take your hard earned money in exchange for some quality merchandise.

The one year anniversary (approximately) of Dust, by far the best upcoming band in Vancouver. :)

Over the next few months we will be shooting a music video for the fantabulous hit single, Snap. It should be ready sometime in around the end of summer or so. To the video section. Don't forget - everyone who reads this must comes to our concert on May 9th. Look at the concert link above for more details

Much to our surprise, our song was played on CBC radio Saturday night at approximately 11.30 pm. For all of those who listened, thank you, and for all of those that wanted to listen and didn't get a chance, there will be other times coming soon (hopefully). For all of those who didn't listen and didn't want to, why are you here? Anyways, thanks very much to Mary-Anne Korosi and all of those people who work at www.newmusiccanada.com. You gave us another boost in popularity.
